International Copper Association work with 100% Design Shanghai,
Presents brand new “Copper Design Zone”
A “copper-centric” zone, a catalyst for creativity that will be among the highlights of 100% Design Shanghai in 2010. This will be a firm departure from the bamboo and crystal elements promoted at the 2008 and 2009 shows respectively. The International Copper Association (ICA) has graciously accepted an invitation from Michael Young, Creative Director of 100% Design Shanghai 2010, to be a part of this unique idea.
With the aim of encouraging designers to draw inspiration from copper, the “Copper Design Zone” will showcase how copper can be integrated into the design of industrial products, home decoration products and art works. The zone will also feature a picture show of ancient Chinese copper decorations. Another not-to-be-missed highlight will be the announcement of the winner of the first ever “Chinese Copper & Home Awards”.
This copper exhibition will be the first of its kind to ever be showcased on Chinese soil. It will illustrate the versatility and desirability of copper products. Everyone who visits the zone will get the chance to understand copper better in terms of its color, process, idiosyncrasies and culture. This is not an event designers can afford to miss as market leaders have already deemed it a true inspiration.
